New Delhi: Voices of dissent once again resonated across Delhi’s Jantar Mantar on Saturday as students and supporters gathered to protest against the NEET paper leak controversy and alleged irregularities in the country's examination system. The demonstration was led by Abhijit Dipke, founder of the Cockroach Janata Party (CJP), with protesters demanding greater transparency, accountability, and comprehensive reforms in the conduct of competitive examinations.
The protest marks CJP's second major demonstration at Jantar Mantar this month, following a similar gathering on 6 June. According to the organization, concerns surrounding the NEET examination remain unresolved, prompting students and supporters to return to the national capital to press for answers and action.
CJP claims that demonstrations highlighting concerns over the NEET controversy and examination-related irregularities have also been organized in several cities, including Pune, Lucknow, Amritsar, Hyderabad, Bengaluru, Jaipur, and Nagpur. The organization says these protests reflect growing frustration among students who believe the integrity of the examination system has been compromised.
Protesters maintained that the movement is not limited to a single examination but represents a broader demand for fairness and transparency in India's education and recruitment systems.
One protester at Jantar Mantar remarked that while some participants may be different from those who attended the earlier demonstration, the underlying concerns remain unchanged. He questioned why those allegedly responsible for examination irregularities have not been held accountable and why students continue to seek answers months after the controversy emerged.
According to demonstrators, the issue directly impacts the future of lakhs of students and should not be dismissed as a routine dispute.
During the protest, some participants also expressed dissatisfaction with sections of the media, alleging that broader concerns regarding the education system are not receiving adequate attention. A protester argued that the debate should extend beyond a single examination and focus on structural reforms that can restore public confidence in competitive exams.
Protesters emphasized that any suspicion of irregularities in a high-stakes examination such as NEET can undermine trust among students and parents. They called for stronger safeguards in the examination process, greater transparency in evaluation mechanisms, and strict action against anyone found guilty of wrongdoing.
The demonstrators argued that ensuring credibility in national-level examinations is essential for protecting the aspirations of millions of students across the country.

In anticipation of the gathering, Delhi Police tightened security arrangements around Jantar Mantar. A significant police presence was deployed in and around the protest site, while CCTV surveillance and monitoring teams were activated to maintain law and order.
Authorities said security measures were implemented as a precautionary step to ensure the protest remained peaceful and to manage crowd movement throughout the day.
As the demonstration continued, protesters reiterated that their campaign would persist until concrete steps are taken to address concerns surrounding the examination system and restore confidence among students.
