Rio de Janeiro: Brazilian police have charged a third individual in connection with a chilling plot to attack Lady Gaga's concert in Rio de Janeiro on May 3, where the pop icon performed before a record-breaking crowd.

According to a report by PEOPLE, the individual, whose identity remains undisclosed, has been formally charged with terrorism-related offences in connection with a foiled plan to attack attendees, particularly members of the LGBTQ+ community.

The ensuing investigation revealed the third suspect allegedly had plans to sacrifice a child or a baby during the concert in a bid to complete a “satanist ritual," Brazilian police said, according to CNN. The man allegedly told police his plan was an attempt to “respond in the same way” to Lady Gaga, who he claimed is a satanist.

Lady Gaga, vocal supporter of LGBTQ+ rights and a self-professed Christian, has publicly refuted similar unfounded claims in the past. Gaga's representatives told The Hollywood Reporter that no security threats had been communicated to them before the event.

The alleged plot was purportedly orchestrated by members who were planning to “recruit” people to carry out explosions at the concert, Brazil police said, according to the BBC.
