New Delhi: BJP president Nitin Nabin on Monday announced a major organisational reshuffle, replacing several key office-bearers and bringing fresh faces into the party’s national structure. In a significant move, all but one of the BJP’s incumbent national secretaries were replaced in the new team.

Barring Anil Antony, son of former Defence Minister and Congress veteran A K Antony, all other national secretaries in the new list are new faces. Against the earlier 11 secretaries, Nitin Nabin has appointed 16 new national secretaries as part of the organisational revamp.

The BJP chief has also changed the leadership of all major party national cells and replaced key faces heading its organisational wings. Lok Sabha MP Tejasvi Surya has been removed as the president of the Bharatiya Janata Yuva Morcha (BJYM), while Vanathi Srinivasan has been replaced as the chief of the Mahila Morcha.

Dr Hemang Joshi from Gujarat has been appointed as the new BJYM president, while Roop Kumari Choudhary from Chhattisgarh will lead the BJP Mahila Morcha.

The party has appointed Uttar Pradesh leader Amarpal Maurya as the new OBC Morcha chief. Bansilal Gurjar from Madhya Pradesh has been named the head of the Kisan Morcha, while Shivesh Kumar Ram from Bihar will lead the SC Morcha.

Dr Mannalal Rawat from Rajasthan has been appointed as the new ST Morcha chief. Meanwhile, Kunwar Basit Ali from Uttar Pradesh has been given charge of the BJP Minority Morcha, replacing Jamal Siddiqui.

The reshuffle is being seen as a major attempt by Nitin Nabin to strengthen the party organisation with new leadership, fresh faces and wider representation across states.
