Noida: The upcoming Noida International Airport is set to start commercial flight operations from 15 June, marking a major milestone for air travel in North India and the National Capital Region.

IndiGo will operate the first flight from the airport, officially kicking off passenger services. Other airlines, including Akasa Air and Air India Express, are expected to begin operations soon after. Detailed flight schedules and destinations will be announced in the coming weeks.

The airport’s launch follows its inauguration by Narendra Modi and the approval of its Aerodrome Security Program by the Bureau of Civil Aviation Security. This clearance confirms that all required safety systems, procedures, and infrastructure are in place.

Built to handle rising air travel demand, the airport features modern infrastructure, efficient systems, and strong connectivity with road and transport networks. It aims to provide a seamless travel experience while ensuring cost-effective operations for airlines.

The launch is expected to boost regional connectivity and drive economic growth by opening new opportunities for tourism, trade, and investment across western Uttar Pradesh and nearby regions.

Developed by Yamuna International Airport Private Limited, a wholly owned subsidiary of Zurich Airport International AG, the project is being implemented in partnership with the central and Uttar Pradesh governments under a public-private partnership model.

The airport’s concession period began on 1 October, 2021, and will span 40 years. In its first phase, it includes one runway and a terminal capable of handling 12 million passengers annually. Future expansion plans aim to increase capacity to over 70 million passengers per year.
