Noida (UP): Noida is preparing for the culmination of Durga Puja celebrations, with 122 idols of Goddess Durga scheduled for immersion at 20 designated artificial ponds. The police and district administration have put extensive security and crowd-management measures in place to ensure the religious ceremonies conclude peacefully.

Around 2,500 police personnel will be deployed across the city to oversee immersion processions, regulate crowds and maintain law and order at key locations.

20 Artificial Ponds Set Up for Durga Visarjan

The administration has arranged 20 artificial ponds at prominent locations to facilitate the immersion of Durga idols in a controlled and organised manner. The designated facilities are also intended to prevent pollution of natural water bodies. Devotees and organisers have been advised to use only the authorised immersion sites and follow the instructions issued by the authorities.

Security Tightened as Large Crowds Expected

With devotees expected to gather in significant numbers, police teams will monitor procession routes and sensitive locations. Officers will also help manage entry and exit points at busy immersion venues to minimise congestion and prevent untoward incidents. The administration is focusing on maintaining orderly movement around the artificial ponds throughout the day.

Traffic Management in Focus

Authorities have also prioritised traffic regulation during the immersion ceremonies. Roads along procession routes and those leading to immersion sites could experience increased movement, with diversions introduced wherever necessary. Commuters have been urged to avoid unnecessary parking along procession routes and cooperate with traffic personnel to keep roads clear for devotees and emergency vehicles.

Administration Appeals for Peaceful Celebrations

Officials have appealed to devotees to maintain discipline, follow designated routes and comply with police instructions. The immersion ceremonies mark the conclusion of Durga Puja, a major Hindu festival celebrating Goddess Durga's victory over the demon Mahishasura.

The arrangements aim to ensure that the festivities conclude safely while limiting inconvenience to residents and commuters.
