The Chief Minister stressed the importance of completing infrastructure projects within the scheduled timelines so that residents can benefit from improved mobility and better connectivity.
The Chief Minister also visited the newly constructed Maharaj Gunj Urban Primary Health Centre and reviewed the facilities available at the centre.
The facility, located in the historic Shehar-e-Khaas area, aims to strengthen healthcare delivery by providing improved medical services to local residents while maintaining the character of the surrounding heritage zone.
Omar Abdullah said that field inspections provide a better understanding of the actual progress of projects compared to relying only on official reports and reviews.
The Chief Minister examined various ongoing works and noted that while several projects were progressing satisfactorily, some areas required additional efforts and closer monitoring by concerned departments.
The Chief Minister was accompanied by Deputy Chief Minister Surinder Kumar Choudhary, Health and Medical Education Minister Sakina Itoo, Advisor to the Chief Minister Nasir Aslam Wani, along with MLAs and senior officials from concerned departments.
The inspection tour is part of the government’s ongoing efforts to review infrastructure and public service projects in Srinagar. The focus remains on improving healthcare facilities, easing traffic movement, strengthening civic infrastructure and ensuring that development projects deliver visible benefits to citizens.
The administration has emphasised timely execution and effective implementation of projects as key priorities for improving the quality of urban services across Srinagar.
