Op Sindhu: Another special flight evacuated Indians from Iran, Here’s latest update

New Delhi: As part of Operation Sindhu, another special flight arrived from Iran today, bringing 311 Indian nationals stranded in that country, amid the fighting with Israel. Another flight is expected to arrive later tonight.

With the current flight, so far 1,428 Indian nationals have been evacuated.

MEA Spokesperson On X

The MEA spokesperson said in a post on X:

“Operation Sindhu continues.

“311 Indian nationals arrived in New Delhi on a special flight from Mashhad at 1630 hrs on 22nd June.

“1428 Indian nationals have now been evacuated from Iran.”

On Saturday night, a flight had arrived bringing 290 Indian nationals back from Mashhad in Iran.

One flight is expected to arrive at 11.30 tonight, bringing back more Indian nationals.

India launched Operation Sindhu to evacuate its nationals from Iran and Israel, amid the raging fighting between the two nations.

Evacuation From Israel

India has decided to evacuate from Israel those Indian nationals who wish to leave, in view of the increasing bombardments between Iran and Israel.

In a statement today, the Ministry of External Affairs has said that it will facilitate the travel of Indians wishing to be evacuated from Israel, through the land borders and thereafter by air to India.

In view of the above, the Embassy of India in Tel Aviv would be making arrangements for the evacuation of Indians.

All Indian nationals are requested to register themselves with the Embassy of India in Tel Aviv at if not already registered. The Embassy also reiterates its earlier advisories urging all Indian citizens in Israel to remain vigilant and strictly follow the safety guidelines issued by Israeli authorities and the Home Front Command:

The Government of India accords the highest priority to the safety and security of Indian nationals abroad. The Government will continue to monitor the situation closely. The Embassy remains continuously in touch with the community with a view to extending all feasible assistance, it said.

Earlier, as part of Operation Sindhu India brought back 110 Indian students from Iran.

The students arrived safely in New Delhi on a special flight from Yerevan, Armenia.

Minister of State for External Affairs Kirti Vardhan Singh received them at the airport.
