New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi spoke to Home Minister Amit Shah on the phone as soon as he got information about the terrorist attack on tourists in Pahalgam during his visit to Saudi Arabia.

According to Dynamite News correspondent, in the context of this cowardly attack, the Prime Minister has given instructions to take all the necessary steps and make necessary arrangements.

Narendra Modi is on an official visit to Saudi Arabia. Upon learning about the heinous incident, he immediately called Home Minister Amit Shah and instructed him to ensure that no one involved in the matter escapes justice.

Former J&K Chief Minister Omar Abdullah has also strongly condemned the terrorist attack on tourists in Pahalgam. In a tweet minutes ago, he stated:

"Shocked beyond belief. The attack on visitors is an abomination. The perpetrators are animals - inhuman and worthy of contempt. No words of condemnation are enough."

Abdullah expressed sympathies for victims' families and confirmed:

  • His colleague has rushed to the hospital to oversee treatment for the injured
  • He's returning to Srinagar immediately

The National Conference leader's remarks come as a sharp rebuke to those advocating dialogue with Pakistan, emphasizing the need for reflection after such attacks.

Terrorists on Saturday spread panic by firing on tourists in Bai Saran area near Pahalgam, a major tourist destination in the Kashmir Valley. Many people have been injured in the incident, who have been immediately admitted to the local hospital in Pahalgam.

Security forces have cordoned off the entire area and launched an operation to search for the terrorists.

Presence of terrorists, operation intensified

According to Dynamite News correspondent, the attackers may still be present in the area. Quick Action Team (QAT) and army personnel have surrounded the spot from all sides. Search operation is going on in the 10 km radius around Pahalgam. Security forces are also investigating the entry and exit routes of terrorists.

Administration action

The IGP of Jammu and Kashmir Police and DIG of Southern Range are reaching the spot. The CRPF and local police deployed in Pahalgam have banned movement in the area. Security agencies believe that this attack could be a conspiracy to spoil the peaceful atmosphere.

Waiting for the next update

So far no concrete information has been received about the number of terrorists and their identity. Sources in the security forces say that the operation will continue and efforts are being made to find the attackers.
