Pakistani Drone Spotted Near Kathua
New Delhi: Tension is high along the Jammu and Kashmir border after a Pakistani drone was seen flying over Indian villages in Kathua district. Security forces spotted the drone around 2 pm on Tuesday, hovering over the forward areas of Shukhmal, Devindera and Tapan in the Bobiyan area of Hiranagar sector. This is close to the International Border.
The drone had flown into Indian territory, which is a serious breach. Alert soldiers from the Border Security Force quickly noticed it and tried to shoot it down. But the drone was flying at a high altitude, so it managed to escape and return across the border to Pakistan.
Drone sightings like this are a big worry for security agencies. In the past, such drones have been used to drop weapons, ammunition, or drugs into Indian territory. So whenever a drone is spotted, forces treat it as a serious threat and act fast.
Along with the drone alert in Kathua, there is also tension in the Poonch district. Police, working together with the Rashtriya Rifles, launched a search operation in many remote villages. This includes areas like Dhara Sangla, Gujjar Naar and Kherowali Dhok in Surankote. The search began after officials received information about two groups of suspected terrorists moving through the thick forests there.
So far, no contact has been made with these suspected terrorists, but the search operation is still going on. Security teams are combing the forested region carefully to track them down.
Together, these two incidents, the drone in Kathua and the terrorist movement in Poonch, show just how alert the security forces need to stay along the border. Both drones and infiltration attempts remain constant threats in this sensitive region, and the forces are working hard to keep the area safe.
