New Delhi: The Congress on Thursday held a high level parliamentary strategy group meeting and decided to focus on coordinating the Congress' approach to key legislative business and sharpening its attack on the BJP- led Centre over a range of issues expected to dominate the monsoon session.
The strategy meeting, held at 10 janpath , was chaired by CPP chairperson Sonia Gandhi. The meeting was attended by Congress chief Mallikharjun Kharge, leader of the Opposition. Rahul Gandhi, General Secretary incharge of organisation, K C Venugopal and others including P Chidambaram, Shashi Taroor, Jairam Ramesh, Manish Tiwari and Gaurav Gogoi.
The party is expected to aggressively raise concerns over alleged paper leak scandals, Ayodhya Ram Temple offering theft issue, rising inflation and macroeconomic challenges and regional governance issues during the session, while also coordinating its interventions with other opposition parties.

The meeting also focused on Congress strategy on the proposed Constitution (130 amendment)Bill, which seeks to mandate the automatic removal of Prime Ministers, Chief Ministers and Union Ministers from office if they remain in judicial custody for 30 consecutive days.The party deliberated on its parliamentary approach to the proposed legislation and its wider constitutional implications.
The strategy meeting also laid the groundwork for coordination with the opposition INDIA bloc ahead of its broader alliance meeting scheduled for July 20. Congress leaders discussed the need for a united opposition strategy to effectively take on the government during the session.
The monsoon session of Parliament is scheduled to be held from July 20 to August 13 and is expected to witness intense debates on key legislative proposals.
