New Delhi: Farmers are keeping an eye on the government regarding the 20th installment of the Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi Yojana (PM-KISAN), which provides financial support to crores of farmers across the country. The installment was expected to be released on July 18, but even after the day passed, the money did not come into the farmers' account. In such a situation, questions are being raised as to when the installment will come, who will get it, and why there is a delay.
Which farmers get the benefit of the scheme?
According to the Dynamite News correspondent, the benefit of PM Kisan Yojana is given to only a few farmers. Yes, there are rules for farmers to take advantage of this scheme. The farmer should have agricultural land in his name. The land should be registered in government records. The farmer should not be an income tax payer. No government employee or pensioner (pension more than 10 thousand) is eligible for this scheme. Doctors, engineers, CAs, etc. are ineligible for this scheme.
How can farmers avail the scheme?
Complete e-KYC. Verification is necessary through OTP or a biometric method from the Aadhaar number. Get Bhulekh verification done. Go to the state government website and get the land details verified. Link bank account to Aadhaar. Money will be sent to the same account that is linked to Aadhaar. Match name spelling and documents. The same information is required in Aadhaar, bank, and farmer registration.
Why is the 20th installment getting delayed?
Recently, there was a discussion that this installment could be released in the program of Prime Minister Narendra Modi in Motihari, Bihar, on July 18. But neither was any announcement made in the program, nor did any official information come from the government. The reason for this is a large number of errors in document verification, non-completion of the e-KYC process in some states, and non-matching of Aadhaar and bank accounts for some farmers. Due to all these things, the installment may get delayed.
What should farmers do if they do not get the installment?
Go to the PM Kisan portal (https://pmkisan.gov.in) and check “Beneficiary Status.” If ‘FTO is generated’ is shown, then the installment will be credited to the account soon. If there is any error in the status (such as Aadhaar error or wrong account number), then contact the CSC center or the Agriculture Department. Contact helpline number 155261 or 1800115526.
How do you get money in PM Kisan Yojana?
Under this scheme, eligible farmers are given financial assistance of Rs 6,000 every year, which is sent directly to the bank account in three equal installments (Rs 2,000 each) through DBT. There is no middleman in this process.
When will the 20th installment be received?
Although the official date has not been announced yet, there are indications that this installment can be released under a program by the Prime Minister by the end of this month or in early August. The government wants that no eligible farmer should be left out; hence, the data is being verified with utmost caution.
