Noida: Noida received a major gift today, Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated the Noida International Airport in Jewar. On this historic occasion, he described the airport as a symbol of the country's progress and modern infrastructure. With the inauguration, the Delhi-NCR region has gained a new air travel hub.

PM Modi inaugurated the first phase of the Noida International Airport, along with its cargo terminal. Beginning his address with chants of “Bharat Mata Ki Jai,” he invited people to take part in the moment. Asking them to switch on their mobile flashlights, he said, 'You are the ones inaugurating it. I have only pressed the button.' He added that the airport belongs to the people and represents their future.

Aircraft will take off every two minutes

Prime Minister Narendra Modi said, 'The completion of all these projects is a great example of the double-engine government. The semiconductor factory is taking India forward in technology. The Meerut Metro and Namo Bharat Rail are providing fast and smart connectivity, and this Jewar Airport is connecting the whole of North India to the world. As you saw in the video, this airport is being developed in a way that one aircraft will take off every two minutes.'

'Before 2014, India had only 74 airports'

PM said, 'Airports in any country are not just basic infrastructure; they give wings to development. Before 2014, India had only 74 airports, but today the number has crossed 160. Air connectivity is now reaching smaller cities beyond the metros. Earlier governments believed air travel was meant only for the rich, but the BJP government has made flying accessible and affordable for ordinary Indians as well.'
