New Delhi: During a statement in the Rajya Sabha on the President’s address, Prime Minister Narendra Modi launched a sharp critique of the Congress party, responding to their opposition and alleged rhetoric targeting him personally.
He accused the Congress of being unable to accept his rise to the position of Prime Minister and of harboring resentment against his policies and governance style.
PM Modi claimed that the Congress party, which often portrays itself as a “shop of love,” has now turned hostile. According to him, their rhetoric has shifted from political criticism to personal attacks, symbolically threatening his “grave.”

Strengthening the Military: He cited the modernization and welfare measures for India’s armed forces, implying that these achievements leave Congress without a constructive narrative.
National Integration and Security Measures: PM Modi mentioned actions like the abrogation of Article 370, restoring stability in the Northeast, and counter-terrorism measures as examples of policies Congress allegedly resents.
Combating Insurgency: He referred to anti-Maoist operations and Pakistan-related security actions as reasons for Congress’ supposed animosity.
Personal Attacks in Parliament: Modi expressed that for 25 years, Congress members have consistently verbally attacked him in Parliament, describing this behavior as rooted in hatred rather than political disagreement.
Modi further criticized Congress leaders who portray themselves as defenders of economic equality while claiming royal status in political debates.
