Geneva: The Kashmir issue once again came under international focus on Wednesday as human rights activist Tasleema Akhter raised concerns over developments in Pakistan-occupied Jammu and Kashmir (PoJK) and highlighted the importance of rights, democratic participation and inclusive development during the 63rd session of the United Nations Human Rights Council (UNHRC) in Geneva.
Akhter, Chairperson of the Association of Terror Victims in Kashmir (ATVK), spoke about public concerns linked to protests, governance challenges and economic issues in PoJK while also drawing attention to development initiatives in Jammu and Kashmir.
