New Delhi: Several distinguished personalities from across India were felicitated at the NBT Utsav in New Delhi, where Defence Minister Rajnath Singh attended as the chief guest. Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta also graced the event, which celebrated outstanding contributions in fields including literature, law, healthcare, business, sports, entertainment and innovation.

Ex-CJI DY Chandrachud honoured with NBT Navratna award

Renowned lyricist and Prasar Bharati Chairman Prasoon Joshi was conferred the inaugural NBT Bhushan award for his exceptional contribution to Indian literature and culture.

The event also honoured nine eminent personalities with the NBT Navratna award. The recipients included former Chief Justice of India Justice D.Y. Chandrachud, noted cardiac surgeon Dr Naresh Trehan, actor Huma Qureshi, Olympic medallist Manu Bhaker, TVF founder Arunabh Kumar, Zepto co-founder Kaivalya Vohra, along with other distinguished achievers from diverse fields.

In addition, Chief Minister Rekha Gupta presented the NBT Prernadeep award to 10 individuals for their inspiring contributions to society.

Rajnath Singh Highlights Vision of Developed India

Addressing the gathering, Defence Minister Rajnath Singh outlined the Centre's development journey over the past few years. He said the government's first term focused on strengthening basic infrastructure, while the second term prioritised the vision of 'Aatmanirbhar Bharat'. According to him, the current term is dedicated to achieving the goal of 'Viksit Bharat', adding that India is steadily progressing towards becoming a developed nation.

Focus on Defence Self-Reliance

Highlighting the success of the 'Make in India' initiative, Rajnath Singh said India's defence manufacturing and exports have witnessed remarkable growth in recent years. He noted that the increasing global confidence in Indian-made defence equipment has significantly strengthened the country's strategic capabilities.

CM Rekha Gupta Calls for Public Participation

Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta stressed that the vision of a developed India can only be realised through active public participation. She urged citizens to contribute sincerely in their respective fields and work alongside the government to accelerate the nation's development.
