New Delhi: The Cockroach Janata Party (CJP) on Saturday announced a new statewide campaign to assess the condition of public hospitals in Maharashtra, alleging that patients are facing delays, overcrowding and inadequate facilities in government healthcare institutions.
The announcement was made by CJP founder Abhijeet Dipke during a visit to his native village in Hingoli district. He said the party would now focus on examining the availability and quality of services in government-run hospitals.
Speaking about the condition of public healthcare facilities, Dipke alleged that many patients are struggling due to a lack of basic amenities and delays in treatment.
“When we visit public hospitals, we see people sleeping on the floor. People have to wait for surgeries. For a CT scan, the wait extends to one week,” he said.
He added that the upcoming campaign would document problems related to hospital infrastructure, access to medical services and facilities available to patients.
The hospital campaign comes after the CJP launched its “School Thik Karo” campaign, aimed at reviewing basic facilities in government schools across Maharashtra.
Under the initiative, party workers have been collecting information about infrastructure issues such as drinking water availability, toilets, benches, windows and other basic requirements in schools.
Dipke said public institutions like schools and hospitals directly impact ordinary citizens and require greater accountability in the use of government resources.
The party said the new campaign will focus on highlighting challenges faced by people dependent on government healthcare, including delays in surgeries, diagnostic tests, overcrowding and infrastructure shortages.
CJP has said it plans to use the findings from both its education and healthcare campaigns to push for improvements in public services across Maharashtra.
