Pune: Bridge Collapse Over Indrayani River Leaves Multiple Casualties

Pune: The major news at the moment is coming from Pune, where a bridge built over the Indrayani River in Talegaon suddenly collapsed. Many tourists were present at the time of the incident.

According to a Dynamite News correspondent, rescue operations are underway at the site to save those affected by the accident. Fifteen ambulances have reached the spot to assist with the rescue efforts.

Half of the bridge over the Indrayani River collapsed while several people were standing on it. Reports indicate that around 20–25 tourists were swept away, and 5–6 people have died in the accident. Videos of the incident have also surfaced.

The bridge, located near Kundmala village under the jurisdiction of the Pimpri-Chinchwad police in Pune, collapsed around 3:30 p.m. Some tourists reportedly drowned due to the collapse.

Police and rescue teams are present at the scene. According to sources, the bridge had been closed by the administration 2–3 months ago, but despite this, people had gathered on it.

Fear of 20-25 Tourists Being Swept Away in the River

After the incident, the Talegaon Dabhade Police reached the spot. The bridge was built to cross the Kundmala area, and people used it to travel from one side to the other. Due to it being Sunday, a large number of tourists were present there.

Some people were standing on the bridge. It is still unclear how many people drowned. According to preliminary information, around 20 to 25 people were swept away. A large crowd had gathered to witness the strong water currents.

It has been raining heavily in Maval area for the last two days and the water level of Indrayani has increased. Due to this, agencies are making all efforts to save the tourists who fell into the river.

At the same time, suddenly the bridge collapsed in the afternoon. Since it was Sunday, a large number of tourists were present there.
