Pune: A bridge over the Indrayani River suddenly collapsed on Sunday, 15 June 2025, near Kundamala village in Mawal tehsil of Pune district of Maharashtra. So far three people have died in the accident, while 38 people have been rescued, reports Dynamite news correspondent.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Home Minister Amit Shah have expressed deep condolences on this sad incident. Prime Minister Modi, who is currently on a Cyprus tour, spoke to Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis over the phone and inquired about relief and rescue operations.

The Chief Minister apprised him of the efforts being made to help the affected. Home Minister Amit Shah mourned the social media platform 'X' about this incident. He said that he is deeply saddened by the news of a bridge falling in the Talegaon area of ​​Pune.

He spoke to Chief Minister Fadnavis and inquired about the situation of the opportunity. Shah said that the NDRF teams immediately reached the spot and started rescue work and saved the lives of many people. He expressed condolences to the families of the deceased and wished the injured to recover soon.

Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge also expressed condolences on the accident and demanded the government fix accountability. He called it a "deferred tragedy" and expressed condolences to the victim families. At the same time, he appreciated the rescue team engaged in relief work and wished the injured to recover soon.

Kharge further said that such incidents reflect the need to ask serious questions of the people sitting in power. He demanded that due to his negligence, this accident occurred, and they should be punished harshly under the law.
