Rahul Gandhi, Akhilesh Yadav Detained Outside PM Modi’s Residence Over Demand For Dharmendra Pradhan’s Resignation

New Delhi: Leader of the Opposition Rahul Gandhi and several Congress MPs were detained by Delhi Police on Tuesday during a sit-in protest outside Prime Minister Narendra Modi's residence at 7 Lok Kalyan Marg over the police crackdown on the Cockroach Janta Party (CJP)'s Parliament march.

Congress alleged that Gandhi and its MPs were "forcibly arrested" and accused the police of using brutal force, while Samajwadi Party chief Akhilesh Yadav also reached the protest site in support.

The government said it had agreed to Rahul Gandhi's demand for a discussion on the NEET paper leak in Parliament, but the standoff continued after he also sought Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan's resignation, leading to the detentions.
