Rahul Gandhi at Delhi University
New Delhi: The unannounced visit by Leader of Opposition (LoP) in Lok Sabha Rahul Gandhi to Delhi University North Campus has led to the war of words between the Bhartiya Janta Party (BJP) and the Congress, reports Dynamite News correspondent.
At the same time the University has condemned the surprise visit of Rahul Gandhi and has called it a breach of institutional protocol and a disruption of student governance.
The BJP has also slammed Rahul Gandhi for politicising the educational spaces.
As per the statement by the DU Proctor's office, the Congress leader entered the University premises without prior notice for the second time, thereby violating institutional norms.
"Shri Rahul Gandhi has done this for the second time... coming to the university without any intimation and information to University of Delhi," the Proctor's office said in a statement.
Rahul Gandhi interacted with Scheduled Caste (SC), Scheduled Tribe (ST), and Other Backward Class (OBC) students at the DUSU President office and had a discussion on the issues of representation and discrimination etc.
