Rahul wrote on X, “It’s the month of festivals — Diwali, Bhai Dooj, Chhath. In Bihar, these festivals mean more than just devotion; they’re about returning home to the warmth of family, the familiarity of the village, and the love of loved ones. However, this longing has turned into a struggle.”
Congress leader Rahul Gandhi has strongly criticized the central government over the massive crowds and chaos on trains to Bihar. He said that the number of passengers on trains has exceeded capacity by 200 percent, forcing many people to travel by hanging on doors and roofs.
Gandhi said, "The government's claims of running 12,000 special trains are proving hollow amid this chaos."
He questioned the worsening situation every year and blamed the ruling National Democratic Alliance (NDA). Rahul Gandhi said, "Why does the situation worsen every year? Why do the people of Bihar have to endure such humiliating journeys? If there were employment and respect at home, they wouldn't be forced to travel thousands of kilometers away."
Rahul Gandhi further said, "These people are not helpless travelers, but living proof of the NDA's failed policies and broken promises. Safe and dignified travel is not a favor to anyone, but a right of citizens."
His statements highlight the problems faced by migrant workers and the increasing travel chaos during the festive season. He stressed that the time has come for the government to take concrete steps and ensure safe, accessible, and humane transportation for all citizens in the country.
