New Delhi: Leader of the Opposition Rahul Gandhi on Monday launched a strong attack on the Narendra Modi-led government after the Cockroach Janta Party (CJP) staged its ‘Sansad Chalo’ march over the alleged NEET-UG 2026 paper leak. Calling the Prime Minister “the most anti-youth Prime Minister India has ever had”, Rahul Gandhi accused the Centre of punishing students instead of taking action against the culprits.
The Opposition chief took to social media early Monday to respond to the CJP protest, accusing the government of punishing students raising legitimate concerns over repeated examination irregularities with police action, instead of taking action against the culprits, alleging that 152 alleged paper leaks affecting 7.5 crore students published so far have not resulted in any one of the guilty being held responsible.
“Prime Minister Modi is the most anti-youth Prime Minister in India’s history,” Rahul Gandhi tweeted on X. He accused Modi of failing to accept the resignation of Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan in the face of the controversy.
The Congress chief accused the police of “dragging and beating” students while "allowed the culprits behind alleged paper leak to roam free", with the government’s “behaviour towards students demanding accountability” showing its attitude towards young people.

Gandhi accused officials of using force and detention to beat down students with “legitimate questions” about the education system.
Congress MP Priyanka Gandhi Vadra also criticised the police action, describing the protesting students as "Bache hai hamare" (They are our children). She questioned why issues related to education and the alleged paper leak were not being discussed in Parliament and accused the Centre of ignoring students' concerns.
Meanwhile, activist Sonam Wangchuk announced that he would continue his indefinite hunger strike following the police action during the CJP's 'Sansad Chalo' march. He said the fast would continue until youth leaders are allowed to meet parliamentarians or he is permitted to represent them from the hospital.
CJP spokesperson Sourav Das said Union Health Minister J.P. Nadda assured the delegation that their demands, including the resignation of Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan, would be discussed at the "appropriate level." However, he clarified that no commitment had been made, adding that the protest would continue until their demands are addressed.
