Jaipur: A wave of mourning spread in the village after two youths of Peernagar village of Chiksana police station area in Bharatpur, Rajasthan, died due to drowning at Kachla Ghat of Ganga river in Soroji, Uttar Pradesh on Tuesday. Both the youths had gone to immerse the ashes.
Bodies found stuck in bushes
Police said that the bodies of two cousins Sumit Singh (17) and Sameer Singh (16), who had gone to Soroji with their family members to immerse the ashes of 90-year-old grandfather Amar Singh, were found stuck in the bushes about eight kilometers away from Kachla Ghat. The bodies of both will be brought to Bharatpur from the mortuary of Badaun hospital after post-mortem.
35 members had gone to Uttar Pradesh
According to the information received, about 35 members of the family went to Soroji in a tractor-trolley to immerse the ashes of their grandfather. Out of these people, Bhola (24), Amit (26), Monu (18), Sumit Singh and Sameer Singh went into deep water while bathing and all five brothers started drowning. During this, a sailor saved three brothers, but two Sumit and Sameer could not be saved. After the news of the accident, a wave of mourning spread in Peernagar village. There is chaos in the family.
Rescue operation conducted
After the incident, the police reached the spot. After this, a rescue operation was conducted to save Sameer and Sumit. The bodies of both were found stuck in the bushes on Monday. At present, their bodies have been kept in the mortuary of Badaun Hospital.
