New Delhi: Any young person aspiring to become a successful journalist must make it a point to read at least one newspaper every day. This practice ensures they remain updated on events unfolding in their immediate surroundings. This sentiment was expressed by the country's renowned investigative journalist, Abhishek Upadhyay.
On Monday, Upadhyay engaged in a dialogue with young journalists at the Dynamite News headquarters, located in Connaught Place, New Delhi. Upon his arrival in the Dynamite News editorial room, Abhishek Upadhyay was welcomed by the young journalists with a resounding round of applause.
At the Dynamite News Headquarters, young professionals hailing from across the country are currently working as journalists. Upadhyay candidly addressed a range of questions posed by them-covering topics such as how to practice fearless journalism, the key considerations to keep in mind before writing a story, how to verify facts while covering news events, and how to deliver optimal performance amidst the high-pressure environment of a newsroom.
Greater Fearlessness
He stated that, in the current era, a journalist can operate with greater fearlessness than ever before, provided they possess the right mindset and the capacity for sound judgment. He noted that this is the age of digital media-an era that could rightfully be described as the "Golden Age" of journalism.
Responding to a specific query, he remarked that while reporting, it is inappropriate to present only one side of a story.
A Hearty Welcome To Abhishek Upadhyay
Earlier in the session, Manoj Tibrewal Aakash, the Editor-in-Chief of Dynamite News, welcomed Abhishek Upadhyay and shared with the young journalists insights into the struggles and challenges that marked his journey in the field of journalism.
Also present in the newsroom on this occasion were senior journalists G Krishna Mohan Rao, Ved Prakash, Suresh Prajapati, Anurag Srivastava, and Vikas Sharma.
