Kolkata: During a public rally in Asansol, West Bengal, Prime Minister Narendra Modi made a significant statement regarding the state's politics. He asserted that a change of power in the state is now inevitable and that the public itself desires this change. According to him, the people have become fed up with the current government's flawed policies and administrative functioning.

Serious Allegations Against the TMC

Taking aim at the Trinamool Congress (TMC), the Prime Minister stated that "Syndicate Raj" and the dominance of the mafia have intensified within the state. He alleged that common citizens are suffering due to the activities of the coal and sand mafias. Furthermore, he expressed concern over the alarming state of women's safety in the region.

Concern Over Economic Decline

PM Modi also voiced his concern regarding West Bengal's economic condition. He noted that the state's contribution to the national GDP, which previously stood at approximately 12 percent, has now plummeted to around 5 percent. According to him, this decline signals a hindrance to the state's development, and investors are increasingly steering clear of the region.

Major Promises of Development

The Prime Minister declared that if the BJP is given the opportunity to govern, the state will witness rapid development. Citing the concept of a "Double Engine Government"—where the same political party holds power at both the center and the state level—he explained that such alignment accelerates the completion of development projects.

He also highlighted that the central government has allocated approximately ₹45,000 crore for the industrial development of Asansol. He expressed his belief that, under the right leadership, cities like Asansol and Durgapur have the potential to transform into major industrial and modern urban hubs.

A Message to the Public

In his address, PM Modi appealed to the people to be prepared for change. He emphasized that making the right decision is crucial for the future of the state. According to him, in the times to come, West Bengal has the potential to scale new heights of development. Conclusion

This statement clearly indicates that the political contest in West Bengal is set to intensify further. While the BJP, on one hand, is advocating for change, the TMC, on the other, is placing its confidence in the performance of its government. The decision now rests with the people as to whom they choose.
