New Delhi: The Delhi Police has granted permission for a peaceful protest under the banner of “Reservation Hatao Andolan” at the city’s Ramlila Ground on Friday. The approval comes through a No Objection Certificate (NOC) issued by the office of the Deputy Commissioner of Police, Central District.
According to the police communication, the protest has been allowed from a law and order perspective, subject to organisers following all prescribed guidelines.
As per the permission granted by Delhi Police, a maximum of 500 people will be allowed to gather at Ramlila Ground. The protest will continue until 4 pm on Friday.

The police have directed organisers to ensure compliance with all conditions mentioned in the approval letter and maintain peace during the event.
The development comes after confusion over the venue of the proposed protest. Earlier, reports had suggested that permission was granted for a demonstration at Jantar Mantar.
However, Delhi Police clarified that no permission had been issued for any protest, procession, demonstration or assembly at Jantar Mantar. Following this, organisers shifted the venue to Ramlila Ground and received approval from authorities.
Delhi Police has imposed several conditions for the gathering. Organisers have been instructed not to conduct any procession or movement outside the permitted area. The police also warned that the NOC could be cancelled if organisers fail to follow the prescribed rules and guidelines.
The “Reservation Hatao Andolan” campaign gained attention through social media platforms, particularly Instagram, where the campaign promoted mobilisation efforts.
The movement has drawn attention amid ongoing debates around reservation policies in India. Authorities have maintained that the protest will be allowed only as a peaceful gathering under the conditions specified by police.
