Haridwar: Surendra Koli, who became a central figure in the Nithari killings case, reportedly spent his last days away from the public spotlight in Haridwar under a different name. After his acquittal in the remaining cases, Koli is said to have adopted the identity of “Sada Ram” and started a quiet life.
According to reports, he worked at a tea stall in Haridwar’s Bhupatwala area, where people around him knew him by his new name and were unaware of his controversial past.
After spending several years in jail and facing multiple legal proceedings, Surendra Koli was acquitted in the remaining Nithari cases by the courts.
Following his release, he reportedly moved to Haridwar and tried to stay away from media attention. Locals said he introduced himself as Sada Ram and focused on earning a living through small work.
In Haridwar, Koli reportedly started working at a small tea stall and gradually became known among nearby residents.
People living around the area said they had no idea about his past identity until details emerged after his death. His attempt to maintain privacy meant that his connection with the Nithari case remained unknown to many around him.
Koli was found dead at the tea stall in Haridwar. Police initiated an investigation into the circumstances surrounding his death.
The incident brought renewed attention to one of India’s most widely discussed criminal cases and the long legal battle that followed.
The Nithari case came to light in 2006 after the remains of several missing children and women were recovered near a house in Noida’s Nithari area.
Surendra Koli and businessman Moninder Singh Pandher were accused in the case. Over the years, Koli faced convictions in some matters, while several cases later ended in acquittal due to issues related to evidence and investigation.
After years of legal proceedings, Koli’s final chapter unfolded far away from Noida, where he reportedly lived under a new identity in Haridwar.
