New Delhi: Afzal Ansari has stated that his life is under threat. He claims that certain criminals in Eastern Uttar Pradesh are plotting to harm him, reports Dynamite News correspondent.
He revealed that he has apprised both the Prime Minister and the Lok Sabha Speaker, Om Birla, of this matter by writing letters to them. Ansari asserts that he is being targeted because he raises his voice in support of the rights of the poor and the underprivileged.
‘Attempts to Suppress Him for Speaking the Truth’
Afzal Ansari contends that attempts are made to silence those who advocate for justice and truth. According to him, there are many such individuals in Eastern Uttar Pradesh who speak out against injustice and face similar threats.
He stated that this is not merely an isolated incident concerning him alone, but rather part of a larger pattern wherein those who speak the truth are intimidated.
Allegations Regarding Films and Public Image
Ansari also alleged that certain individuals are portrayed inaccurately through the medium of films. He claims that some individuals are depicted as anti-national, whereas the actual reality may be entirely different.
He asserted that there are many individuals against whom serious allegations have been leveled, yet no films are produced about them, and they continue to enjoy political patronage.
Reference to Old Criminal Cases
Ansari also made reference to several old criminal cases. He noted that during the 1990s, there were numerous criminals facing grave charges who were subsequently acquitted due to a lack of evidence.
Citing the examples of Dawood Ibrahim and the infamous JJ Hospital shootout case in Mumbai, he pointed out that several names had surfaced during that period as well.
He maintains that, even today, there is no open discussion regarding the individuals implicated in such cases.
Allegations of Political Patronage
Ansari alleged that certain criminals receive political patronage. He stated that individuals with multiple criminal cases registered against them roam freely, and no strict action is taken against them. According to him, this is precisely why such individuals become increasingly powerful and pose a threat to the common people.
