Lucknow: Samajwadi Party (SP) chief Akhilesh Yadav has announced that the party will release its election manifesto on November 26, 2026, as it prepares for the Uttar Pradesh Assembly elections in 2027. The document, titled ‘PDA Ka Pranpatra’, will be unveiled on Constitution Day.

The announcement signals the party’s continued focus on its PDA strategy, centred on backward classes, Dalits and minorities. The SP has yet to disclose the manifesto’s key promises.

Manifesto to Be Released on Constitution Day

Yadav announced the date in a post on X on Monday, writing, ‘Sattais ka Sankalp: PDA Ka Pranpatra’, meaning ‘Resolution for 2027: The PDA Pledge’.

The choice of Constitution Day places social justice, representation and constitutional rights at the centre of the party’s political messaging ahead of the polls.

PDA Remains Central to SP’s Strategy

PDA stands for *Pichhda, Dalit and Alpsankhyak* — backward classes, Dalits and minorities. The SP made this social coalition a key part of its campaign during the 2024 Lok Sabha elections, winning 37 of Uttar Pradesh’s 80 seats.

Yadav has consistently raised issues of social justice and dignity for disadvantaged communities. The party has also sought to expand its support base by bringing leaders from other parties into its fold. According to the report, several leaders associated with the BJP and Congress, particularly from backward and Dalit communities, have joined the SP.

Jobs and Paper Leaks Among Youth Concerns

Employment, recruitment examinations and alleged paper leaks are likely to feature in the party’s outreach to young voters. These issues have sparked protests and discontent among sections of the youth in recent months, with the SP extending support to related movements.

The manifesto will provide an opportunity for the party to outline its proposals, although its specific commitments on employment and recruitment have not yet been announced.

SP Steps Up Booth-Level Voter Monitoring

The party has also deployed ‘PDA Praharis’ at the booth level to scrutinise electoral rolls and flag alleged bogus or suspicious entries, according to the report.

The exercise is aimed at monitoring voter-list accuracy and ensuring that eligible voters are included as the party strengthens its organisation ahead of the 2027 Assembly elections.
