New Delhi: The month of Sawan is considered to be the most sacred time for devotion and worship of Lord Shiva.

Offering water on Shivling, fasting and chanting mantras throughout this month is especially fruitful. In the year 2025, Sawan is starting from July 11.

During this time, there will be a special opportunity for Shiva devotees to keep fast on four Sawan Mondays.

It is believed that whoever observes these fasts with devotion, all his wishes are fulfilled. Especially for unmarried girls, these fasts are considered very auspicious, because with this they get a suitable groom.

When is the first fast and why is it so special?

This day is especially auspicious for those who wish to achieve a particular goal in life or get rid of problems. There is a belief that the first Monday of Sawan is the auspicious beginning of the sadhana of the whole month, so the importance of worship done on this day increases manifold.

Sawan Monday Puja Vidhi

On Sawan Monday, wake up before Brahma Muhurta i.e. sunrise. Purify the body and mind by taking a bath. Wear clean and light coloured clothes, especially white or yellow colour is considered auspicious. After this, clean the place of worship in your house and sprinkle Ganga water or cow urine there.
