New Delhi: The Supreme Court has issued notice to the Central Government and the Election Commission on a PIL. The PIL demands that all political parties be directed to publish information about their objectives and rules and regulations on their official website.

Until a law is enacted, the Supreme Court seeks guidelines
The petition was filed by senior lawyer Ashwini Kumar Upadhyay. Speaking to the media, he said, "I have filed a PIL seeking to regulate political parties. Until Parliament enacts a law, the Supreme Court should formulate guidelines. The court has sought responses from both the Election Commission and the Central Government, as there is currently no law addressing this issue."
