New Delhi: Chhattisgarh’s “Seva Setu” platform is emerged as a major digital governance initiative, offering citizens access to more than 441 government services through a single online system.

Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai, launched the platform that aims to make public service delivery more transparent, accountable and citizen-focused. Services ranging from income, caste and domicile certificates to ration cards, marriage registration and land records are now available digitally.

End to Repeated Government Office Visits

Earlier, citizens were often required to visit several government offices to obtain basic certificates and documents. The process involved considerable time, effort and, in some cases, dependence on intermediaries.

Seva Setu has replaced this system with a one-stop digital platform. Citizens can submit applications from home or through nearby Public Service Centres and receive services within the prescribed time limit.

The earlier e-District portal offered only 86 services, while the upgraded platform now provides 441 live services.

Over 30 Departments Integrated

More than 30 government departments have been brought together on the platform. It includes 54 newly introduced services and 329 services redirected from departmental portals, reducing the need to visit multiple websites.

Under the Chhattisgarh Public Service Guarantee Act, the platform ensures time-bound processing of applications.

In the past 28 months, more than 75.70 lakh applications were received, of which over 68.41 lakh were processed. More than 95 per cent of applications were reportedly resolved within the stipulated period.

Strong Demand for Certificates

Data from the Chhattisgarh Infotech Promotion Society shows that income certificates remain the most sought-after service, with over 32 lakh applications submitted.

Domicile certificates, caste certificates, marriage registration and land-related services have also recorded high digital usage.

WhatsApp Access and Digital Transactions

To further improve accessibility, Seva Setu has been integrated with WhatsApp. The platform has facilitated more than 3.3 crore digital transactions so far.

Its electronic workflow allows citizens to track applications in real time, helping reduce delays and limit opportunities for corruption.

Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai said "Good governance becomes meaningful only when services are simple, transparent and delivered on time. He described Seva Setu as an important foundation for digital governance and a key pillar in the state’s journey towards a developed Chhattisgarh.'
