New Delhi: Senior Congress leader and Rajya Sabha MP Sonia Gandhi is undergoing treatment at Sir Ganga Ram Hospital in Delhi. Doctors say her health is improving and she is responding positively to antibiotics. She was admitted to the hospital after her condition deteriorated on Tuesday night.
Hospital Chairman Dr. Ajay Swarup stated that Sonia Gandhi is receiving antibiotics for a systemic infection. A team of specialist doctors is continuously monitoring her condition.
According to doctors, several tests have been conducted to rule out possible infections in the stomach and urinary tract. Based on preliminary reports, precautionary antibiotic treatment has been initiated. The medical team, including Dr. D.S. Rana, Dr. S. Nandi, and Dr. Arup Basu, is continuously monitoring her condition.
The hospital administration stated that her condition is currently stable and the treatment is responding positively. Further treatment plans will be determined based on the test reports.
Congress MP and Leader of the Opposition in the Lok Sabha, Rahul Gandhi, visited the hospital on Thursday morning to inquire about her health. He met with doctors at the hospital and inquired about her health.
According to reports, Rahul Gandhi also canceled his trip to Kerala to be with his mother. He had previously stated during an event that when Sonia Gandhi was admitted to the hospital, he spent the entire night on a small couch.
