Jaipur: At least one person died and more than 15 critically injured after a speeding Audi car rammed into pedestrians and roadside stalls near in Patrakar Colony in Mansarovar here on Friday night.
Pedestrians, food stalls, and parked vehicles along the roadside became victims of this carnage. This tragic accident claimed one life and left several families waiting anxiously at the hospital.
Horrific Accident Near Kharabas Circle
This horrific accident occurred near Kharabas Circle in the Journalist Colony police station area of Jaipur. The speeding Audi car crushed pedestrians and stalls along the roadside.
Over fifteen people were injured in the accident, and one person died during treatment. Panic ensued in the area after the incident, with people seen running in all directions to save themselves.
According to the police, the speeding car first hit the road divider. The driver then completely lost control. The out-of-control car continued for about 30 meters, running over stalls, shops, and pedestrians along the roadside. Several parked vehicles were also damaged during this time. The sheer horror of the accident left those present at the scene stunned.
Car Occupants Were Intoxicated
Police said that there were four people in the Audi car, and all are suspected of being intoxicated. One person was taken into custody at the scene immediately after the accident, while the other accused fled. The police have seized the car and are conducting raids to apprehend the absconding suspects. Given the seriousness of the case, the investigation has been expedited.
Injured Undergoing Treatment
All those injured in the accident were initially taken to Jaipuria Hospital. Eight of the injured were admitted to the hospital, while some were shifted to private hospitals. One of the injured, Ramesh Bairwa, a resident of Bhilwara, succumbed to his injuries during treatment. Four seriously injured patients have been referred to Sawai Man Singh Hospital, where they are currently receiving treatment. Government expresses grief
Chief Minister Bhajanlal Sharma expressed deep sorrow over the tragic accident and instructed officials to ensure that the injured receive the best possible medical treatment. Deputy Chief Minister Premchand Bairwa and Health Minister Gajendra Singh visited Jaipuria Hospital to inquire about the condition of the injured and gave necessary instructions to the doctors.
