New Delhi: Three suspects arrested in connection with the firing at Bollywood actor Tiger Shroff’s car in Mumbai were planning to escape to Nepal through Delhi, Kota Superintendent of Police Tejaswani Gautam said on Monday.

The suspects were travelling in the general compartment of the Pune-Jaipur Express when Kota City Police intercepted them at the railway station. Mumbai Police officials have reached Kota to take custody of the accused and continue the investigation.

Nepal Escape Plan Foiled at Kota Station

“Their plan was to reach Delhi and then flee towards Nepal,” Gautam said, adding that the weapons allegedly used in the firing had not yet been recovered.

The suspects will be questioned about the whereabouts of the weapons, following which appropriate legal action will be taken, she said.

According to Gautam, Kota City Police launched an operation after receiving information about the suspects’ movements and detained them at the railway station.

Probe Examines Possible Lawrence Bishnoi Gang Link

Preliminary questioning has also pointed to a possible connection between one of the suspects, Rehan, and Anil Pandit, who, according to Gautam, is linked to gangster Lawrence Bishnoi.

“Based on preliminary questioning, we got to know that Anil Pandit had been in contact with Rehan. Anil Pandit is linked to Lawrence Bishnoi,” she said.

The alleged link is being examined as part of the investigation. Further questioning of the suspects is expected to help investigators establish the circumstances surrounding the firing and determine the possible role of others.

Three Suspects Identified, Mumbai Police to Take Custody

The three suspects were apprehended while travelling from Mumbai towards Delhi. They have been identified as Rehan alias Sukka, a resident of Sonipat in Haryana; Hritik Kurmi alias Roshan, who hails from Begusarai in Bihar and had been living in Mumbai; and a minor.

Mumbai Police are now set to take custody of the suspects and pursue further questioning in connection with the firing at the actor’s car.
