Kolkata: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Sunday launched a scathing attack on the TMC, the Congress, and other opposition parties, holding them responsible for the failure of the Constitutional Amendment Bill regarding women's reservation in the Lok Sabha.

Addressing an election rally in Bishnupur, in Bengal's Bankura district, the Prime Minister-specifically targeting the TMC-stated that by conspiring with the Congress, the party has committed yet another act of betrayal against the sisters of Bengal.

Modi asserted that the very identity of the BJP is synonymous with women's empowerment and women's safety; this is precisely why sisters and daughters across every state of the country shower the BJP with the greatest blessings. "We desire to expand the role of our daughters in building a 'Developed India' (Viksit Bharat) and wish to see an increasing number of women enter politics; however, you have all witnessed what transpired in Parliament."

"The TMC has committed another act of betrayal against the sisters of Bengal. The women of Bengal desired 33 percent reservation, and Modi ensured that this was provided. We intended for this to be implemented starting in 2029; however, the TMC did not want the daughters of Bengal to become MLAs and MPs in large numbers, as these very daughters are challenging their 'Maha Jungle Raj' (lawless regime). Consequently, the TMC conspired in collusion with the Congress to ensure that this bill would not be passed."

The TMC Will Face Severe Punishment for Its Betrayal

Calling upon the women of Bengal to bring about change, Modi declared that the TMC government-characterized by its "Maha Jungle Raj"-must face severe punishment for the betrayal it has inflicted upon them. Modi further added that the TMC harbors deep animosity even towards tribal sisters and daughters. "While the BJP gave the country its first tribal President, the TMC fielded a rival candidate against the tribal daughter, Droupadi Murmu."

"This mirrors the actions of former Prime Minister Jawaharlal Nehru, who had fielded a candidate against the architect of the Constitution, Babasaheb Dr BR Ambedkar," Modi remarked. He asserted that the TMC did not wish to see a tribal daughter like Droupadi Murmu become the President. Modi also took the party to task regarding the protocol violations that occurred during President Murmu's recent visit to North Bengal.

He stated, "The entire world respects the President of India, yet the TMC treats her with disrespect-a fact that has been witnessed by the entire nation." The sisters of Bengal will never forget the insult inflicted upon the daughter of the tribal community-the President of India.

The TMC is bound to face punishment for this. The Prime Minister stated that this is the very same TMC that flouts every law and rule to extend benefits to infiltrators. This is the same TMC that is bent on providing reservations on the basis of religion, thereby strangling the very spirit of the Constitution.

'The TMC, which used to intimidate the public, has now been terrified by the roar of the Bengal Tiger'
Modi remarked that wherever he travels across Bengal, every public rally he addresses grows larger than the last. This atmosphere-filled with love, enthusiasm, and fervor-also serves as a symbol of the public's anger against this ruthless government. The TMC, which until now terrorized the people of Bengal, has itself been terrified by the roar of the Bengal Tiger.

He clarified that the 'Bengal Tiger' refers to the people of Bengal. The people of Bengal are roaring in unison: "We will no longer tolerate the TMC's atrocities. We are determined to oust this ruthless TMC government."

PM warns goons, syndicate mafias, and corrupt individuals to surrender
During his address, the Prime Minister issued a stern warning-for the first time-to all TMC goons, syndicate mafias, and corrupt individuals: "I am giving you one final opportunity. Go to your respective police stations and surrender before April 29th; for after May 4th, no one will be able to save you."

'The TMC's era of fear is ending; the BJP's era of trusted service is beginning'
Modi asserted that the TMC's era of fear is drawing to a close, while the BJP's era of trusted service is about to begin. Once a BJP government is formed in Bengal, the poor will receive free rations; no one will be able to snatch away your entitlements. Under the PM Awas Yojana, the BJP government in Bengal will provide financial assistance of up to Rs 1.5 lakh to women for constructing permanent homes.

This ruthless government has blocked the implementation of the Ayushman Bharat scheme here. However, the moment a BJP government is formed in Bengal, women will be granted access to free medical treatment worth up to Rs 5 lakh. Furthermore, upon the formation of a BJP government, women in Bengal will receive an annual financial assistance of Rs 36,000. Mamata Banerjee Hits Back at PM Modi's Statement

Bengal CM Mamata Banerjee stated that the Prime Minister has attempted to mislead the nation, rather than addressing the issue honestly. The Trinamool Congress has always advocated for granting greater political representation to women. Women constitute 37.9% of our members in the Lok Sabha and 46% in the Rajya Sabha.

We have never opposed women's reservation. Our objection lies solely with the Modi government's delimitation exercise-a conspiracy that uses women as a shield to allocate more seats to BJP-ruled states and to undermine our federal democracy.

Had the government been truly serious, why was the Women's Reservation Bill suddenly introduced at the time of elections-three years after its passage-and why was it linked to the delimitation process? The Trinamool Congress has been fighting for women's rights for decades, but we will not tolerate this hypocrisy. The Prime Minister should speak with accountability in Parliament next time, rather than acting in a cowardly manner.
