New Delhi: Union Minister for Coal and Mines G Kishan Reddy announced that India Mining Week 2026, the country’s largest conference-cum-exhibition for the mining and minerals sector, will be held from November 15 to 17 at the Yashobhoomi Convention Centre in New Delhi.
The announcement was made at the curtain-raiser event, where the Minister, along with Union Minister of State for Coal and Mines Satish Chandra Dubey, unveiled the summit’s logo and brochure.
Coal Secretary Vikram Dev Dutt, Mines Secretary Piyush Goyal, Additional Secretary for Coal Rupinder Brar, senior government officials and key industry stakeholders were also present on the occasion.
The three-day summit is to be organised under the theme "Stronger Resources, Smarter Mining, Sustainable Tomorrow," which aims to bring together policymakers, industry leaders, investors, technology innovators, researchers, startups, and academia from across the world to shape the future of sustainable, technology-driven mining.
Addressing the occasion, G. Kishan Reddy said, "India Mining Week 2026 is a landmark initiative reflecting India's growing confidence and global aspirations in the mining sector."
"The event would serve as a premier international platform to strengthen partnerships, promote innovation and showcase India's mineral potential. Highlighting reforms introduced under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, he said transparent auctions, commercial coal mining, accelerated exploration, ease of doing business and technology-driven governance have positioned India among the world's most attractive mining destinations," he added.
During the event, G Kishan Reddy launched the Online Portal Application for Registration of Coal Exchanges and the eighth tranche of auctions for Critical and Strategic Mineral Blocks.

Union Minister of State for Coal and Mines Satish Chandra Dubey said India's mining sector is emerging as a key driver of economic growth, employment generation and regional development. He noted that transparent governance, responsible mining practices and technological advancement are creating new opportunities. He said the summit would provide an important platform for collaboration between governments, industry, academia and technology providers.

Coal Secretary Vikram Dev Dutt said, "India has emerged as the world's fastest-growing major economy and coal remains a strategic pillar of the country's energy security and industrial growth. He highlighted that structural reforms undertaken over the past decade have transformed the coal sector into a transparent, competitive and investor-friendly ecosystem."
He added, "India has achieved over one billion tonnes of coal production and supply for two consecutive years, significantly strengthening energy security and economic resilience. He added that commercial coal mining has attracted investments, encouraged advanced technologies and widened private sector participation."

Welcoming delegates, Additional Secretary in the Ministry of Coal Rupinder Brar said the summit would strengthen global partnerships, promote innovation and highlight India's rapidly evolving mining sector. She said recent reforms have improved transparency, ease of doing business, technology adoption and sustainable mining practices, expressing confidence that the event would facilitate meaningful dialogue, investment and strategic collaborations.
India Mining Week 2026 is expected to attract more than 25,000 participants, 500 exhibitors, 200 speakers, delegates from over 50 countries, 300 mining and mineral companies and 1,000 government and PSU representatives. The event will feature conferences, exhibitions, leadership dialogues, technical sessions, B2B meetings, technology demonstrations and discussions on critical minerals, digitisation, automation, mine safety, sustainability and the future of mining as India seeks to strengthen its position as a global mining and resource development hub.
