UP: 11 devotees killed as Bolero falls into canal in Gonda

Gonda: At least 11 devotees were killed after a Bolero going to Prithvinath temple overturned into a canal in Gonda on Sunday morning, according to Dynamite News correspondent.

According to police and administrative officials, the Bolero lost control and fell into the canal near the Saryu Canal Bridge, located in Rehra village on Parasarai-Alaval-Deoria Road.

It is said that Prahlad Gupta, a resident of Sihagaon of Motiganj police station, was going to visit Prithvinath temple with his family and friends in a Bolero.

15 people were going in a Bolero from Sihagaon of Motiganj police station area to offer water to Prithvi Nath temple of Khargupur.

The Bolero car overturned in the canal and these people died due to drowning.

Passersby, seeing the Bolero car drowning in the Saryu canal, immediately informed the police of the local police station. Local people informed the village head.

The bodies of the deceased men, women and children were taken out by the police of Itiyathok police station who reached the spot.
