UP Police Recruitment: Massive opportunity from Constable to Sub-Inspector posts, thousands of vacancies to be filled

Lucknow: There is great news for the youth preparing for a job in the Uttar Pradesh Police Department. The state government is soon going to start the direct recruitment process for more than 24 thousand posts in the UP Police.

Of these, about 19,220 posts are for constables, while 4,543 posts are proposed for Darogas (sub-inspectors). The Police Recruitment and Promotion Board has made full preparations, and it is estimated that the official advertisement for recruitment will be released by June 15, 2025.

According to Dynamite News correspondent, the process was earlier scheduled to start in the last week of April, but now it has been postponed till mid-June. According to the proposal sent by the board from the DGP headquarters, the 19,220 posts of constable include various categories.

These include 9837 posts of PAC, 2282 posts of PAC Mahila Vahini, 3245 posts of Civil Police, 2444 posts of Armed Police, 1341 posts of Special Security Force, and 71 posts of Mounted Police.

Advertisement will be released soon for 24 thousand posts

On the other hand, out of the total 4543 posts of Sub Inspector, the maximum 4242 posts are in Civil Police. Apart from this, 106 posts of Platoon Commander/Sub Inspector Mahila Vahini, 135 posts of Armed Police, and 60 posts for Special Security Force are proposed.

Three years of relaxation in the age limit

It is worth noting that on Tuesday, the state cabinet also approved the proposal to give three years of relaxation in the age limit in the sub-inspector recruitment process, which will provide relief to a large number of candidates.

Possibility of more than 35 lakh applications

It is expected that more than 35 lakh applications will come in this recruitment process. Earlier, about 48 lakh applications were received for 60,244 posts of civil police. This time, although most of the posts are in PAC and the armed forces, a huge number of applications are expected. If sources are to be believed, the advertisement may be released by June 15. Earlier it was planned to be released in the last week of April.
