New Delhi: The Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) has announced the result for the Combined Defence Services (CDS 2) recruitment exam 2025 today October 10. Candidates who appeared for the defence recruitment exam can check and download the UPSC CDS 2 result 2025 through the official website at upsc.gov.in.
In a highly competitive field, 9,085 candidates have cleared the exam and qualified for the next phase of the selection process- the Service Selection Board (SSB) interviews.
The results pertain to the Combined Defence Services Examination (II), 2025, conducted on September 14. The exam is the key entry test for candidates seeking officer positions in India’s armed forces, including the Indian Military Academy (IMA), Indian Naval Academy (INA), Air Force Academy (AFA), and Officers Training Academy (OTA).
Candidates can follow the easy steps given below to download the UPSC CDS 2 results 2025.
Step 1: Visit the official UPSC website at upsc.gov.in.
Step 2: Click on Examinations and select Written Results.
Step 3: Look for the link “CDS II 2025 Written Result”.
Step 4: Open the PDF list and search for your roll number or name.
Step 5: The result file contains the roll numbers and names of all shortlisted candidates.
9,085 candidates qualify for SSB
The qualifiers are shortlisted for several prestigious defence training courses:
Indian Military Academy (IMA), Dehradun: 161st (DE) course starting July 2026
Indian Naval Academy (INA), Ezhimala, Kerala: Course starting July 2026
Air Force Academy (AFA), Hyderabad: Pre-Flying Training Course [220 F(P)] starting July 2026
Officers Training Academy (OTA), Chennai: 124th SSC (Men & Women) (Non-Technical) courses beginning October 2026

Successful candidates will now progress to the SSB interview stage, which assesses qualities such as leadership, mental agility, personality, and communication skills. The recruitment process also includes document verification and medical examinations as part of final admissions.
Document Submission: Original certificates (age proof, educational qualification, NCC, etc.) must be sent to the respective defence headquarters.
SSB Registration: Candidates who have opted for Army training as their first preference should register at joinindianarmy.nic.in to receive interview updates.
Marksheets: Individual marks will be available on the UPSC portal within 15 days of the final OTA results and will remain accessible for 30 days after publication.
