Uttarakhand: 106 routes including two state highways closed due to heavy rains

Dehradun: Due to heavy rains and debris on the roads, 106 routes including two state highways have been closed in the state. The worst condition among these is of rural roads. The pace of opening rural roads is slow. Due to this, the local people are facing difficulties in commuting.

The Mothorwala-Dudhli road, just five kilometers away from the Vidhan Sabha Bhawan, remained closed for four hours due to debris. According to the State Emergency Operations Center, 179 roads were closed in the state, out of which 73 roads were opened by late evening. Debris came on the Mothorwala-Dudhli road after night rain.

People are troubled due to potholes

Due to this, the road remained closed near Daudwala. Due to lack of drainage system on the roadside, potholes and water are accumulated at many places on the road. According to the local people, this has created a danger of accidents. Locals Deepak Kumar and Mohan Singh say that Doiwala assembly constituency has given two chief ministers to the state, yet the condition of roads in the assembly constituency is not good.

Along with Dudhli-Motharowala road, people are facing a lot of problems due to potholes in Balawala, Miyawala road. Local people say that to avoid Lachhiwala toll tax, passengers pass through Dudhli-Motharowala road, but due to the bad condition of the road, they have to face problems.
