Haridwar: After the Kanwar on foot, now a flood of Dak Kanwar pilgrims is reaching Haridwar. Now for the next five days, the Bairagi camp area of Kankhal will be completely handed over to the Dak Kanwariyas. Dak Kanwar vehicles will be sent here and then they will be sent off from Singhdwar.

For the next five days, Bairagi camp will be bustling with Dak Kanwar pilgrims. The faith of Kanwar pilgrims is breaking all records this time. From July 10 to Wednesday, one crore 16 lakh 90 thousand Shiva devotees have left for their respective destinations with Gangajal, among them the number of devotees from Haryana, Western Uttar Pradesh, Delhi and Rajasthan was the highest.

Last year, the figure of Kanwariyas for five days was only 49 lakh 40 thousand. Now from today, Friday, Dak Kanwar vehicles will start arriving.

This series will remain at its peak till July 22. During this period, lakhs of Dak Kanwariyas will reach Haridwar every day. A large number of passengers will reach in bikes, cars and trucks.

Let us tell you that apart from Kumbh, Ardh Kumbh, the administration uses Bairagi Camp in bathing festivals and Kanwar fair.

In the year 2012, IPS Arun Mohan Joshi, who was the police captain, had arranged for Dak Kanwar vehicles for crowd control in Bairagi Camp to save the city from crowd and jam. Since this proved to be effective, this arrangement is being made every year now.
