Want to learn Japanese, Korean or French? Delhi University opens admissions for language courses

The Campus of Open Learning (SOL), University of Delhi, has announced the commencement of admissions for its One-Year Certificate and One-Year Diploma Courses in eight foreign languages.

New Delhi: The Campus of Open Learning (SOL), University of Delhi, has announced the commencement of admissions for its One-Year Certificate and One-Year Diploma Courses in eight foreign languages, along with several flagship professional programmes offered under the Department of Distance and Continuing Education (DDCE), School of Open Learning (SOL).

The admissions initiative aims to provide flexible learning opportunities and skill-based education for students and working professionals across the country.

Admissions Open for Eight Foreign Language Programmes

According to COL Director Prof. Payal Mago, students can apply for Certificate and Diploma Courses in German, French, Spanish, Italian, Portuguese, Chinese, Japanese, and Korean.

These programmes are being offered in collaboration with the Department of Germanic and Romance Studies and the Department of East Asian Studies, University of Delhi.

Online Mode to Expand Access Nationwide

To make quality language education accessible to a larger audience, the Open Learning Development Centre (OLDC) will soon introduce these foreign language courses in online mode.

The move is expected to enable learners from different parts of India to enroll in the programmes without geographical limitations.

Russian Language Courses to Be Introduced

Expanding its international language portfolio, OLDC is also set to launch One-Year Certificate and One-Year Diploma Courses in Russian.

The programmes will be offered in collaboration with the Department of Slavonic and Finno-Ugrian Studies, University of Delhi, and will be available in both classroom and online formats.

Admissions for Professional Programmes Begin June 17

Apart from language courses, admissions for several flagship professional programmes under DDCE, SOL, COL will begin on June 17, 2026.

The programmes include:

• Master of Business Administration (MBA)
• Master of Library and Information Science (MLISc)
• Bachelor of Library and Information Science (BLISc)
• Post Graduate Diploma in Advertising and Digital Media Leadership (PGDADLM)

The University of Delhi stated that these programmes are designed to promote quality higher education, professional growth, and career advancement through flexible learning pathways.
