New Delhi: The India Meteorological Department has predicted an increase in rainfall activity across several parts of the country as active monsoon systems continue to influence weather conditions.
According to the latest IMD forecast, Delhi, Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, Maharashtra, Uttarakhand, Himachal Pradesh, Haryana, Punjab, Jharkhand, Odisha, Chhattisgarh, Gujarat, Assam, Telangana and Kerala are likely to receive rainfall accompanied by thunderstorms and gusty winds.
Meteorological conditions indicate the possibility of intense showers, lightning activity and strong surface winds in several areas. In some regions, wind speeds may reach 60 to 65 kilometres per hour, increasing the risk of local disruptions.
The weather department has advised people, farmers and fishermen to remain cautious and follow regional weather advisories as changing conditions may affect normal life.
Delhi residents may witness a fresh spell of rainfall as monsoon clouds remain active over the National Capital Region. The IMD has predicted light to moderate showers at several places, with isolated heavy rainfall possible during the day. Thunderstorms, lightning and gusty winds between 30 and 40 kmph are also expected.
The weather change may provide temporary relief from humidity and high temperatures, but it could also affect traffic movement and outdoor activities. Delhi is expected to record maximum temperatures around 32 to 35 degrees Celsius, while minimum temperatures may remain near 26 degrees Celsius. The wet weather pattern is likely to continue across Delhi, Haryana, Chandigarh and Punjab in the coming days.
Uttar Pradesh is among the states under close weather watch as monsoon activity remains strong across the region. The IMD has predicted heavy rainfall in districts including Aligarh, Agra, Meerut, Mathura, Moradabad, Mirzapur, Maharajganj, Ghaziabad, Gautam Buddh Nagar and Pratapgarh.
Several areas may also experience strong winds reaching around 55 kmph along with thunderstorms. The weather shift could impact road connectivity, local transportation and agricultural activities, especially in areas already affected by continuous rainfall.
Lucknow may witness cloudy skies with temperatures expected to remain around 32 degrees Celsius during the day and nearly 26 degrees Celsius at night.
Bihar is likely to witness intense rainfall activity as moisture-filled monsoon winds continue to influence eastern India. The IMD has issued alerts for districts including Araria, Ara, Gaya, Gopalganj, Samastipur, Siwan, Supaul, Saran, Saharsa, East Champaran, Jehanabad, Vaishali, Purnia, Bhojpur, Munger, Bhagalpur and Kishanganj.
Several areas may receive heavy showers accompanied by thunderstorms and strong winds. Wind speeds in some parts of Bihar may touch around 50 kmph, increasing the possibility of waterlogging and disruption in daily activities.
Patna is expected to experience cloudy conditions, with temperatures likely to remain around 33 degrees Celsius during the day and 27 degrees Celsius at night.
Rajasthan is facing one of the strongest weather warnings, with several districts expected to receive rainfall along with high-speed winds. The IMD has forecast rain and thunderstorms in Bharatpur, Bhilwara, Barmer, Bundi, Baran, Udaipur, Jaipur, Jhunjhunu, Jhalawar, Alwar, Churu, Karauli, Dausa, Kota and Jaisalmer.
Some areas may witness wind speeds reaching up to 65 kmph, creating concerns over outdoor activities, transportation and farming operations. The changing weather may bring relief from heat conditions but could also create challenges due to sudden storms and heavy showers. Jaipur is likely to record temperatures around 31 degrees Celsius during the day and around 25 degrees Celsius at night.
Madhya Pradesh is expected to witness rainfall activity in several districts, including Betul, Balaghat, Seoni, Damoh, Dewas, Anuppur, Agar Malwa, Vidisha, Jhabua, Katni, Mandla and Ratlam.
The IMD has warned of thunderstorms and strong winds, with wind speeds potentially touching 60 kmph in some areas. Hill states including Himachal Pradesh and Uttarakhand are also likely to experience changing weather patterns.
In Himachal Pradesh, districts including Bilaspur, Una, Kangra, Kinnaur, Hamirpur, Chamba and Solan may receive rain with gusty winds. Uttarakhand regions such as Tehri Garhwal, Pauri Garhwal, Rishikesh, Haridwar, Bageshwar, Nainital, Uttarkashi and Champawat are also under weather alert.
The impact of the active monsoon system is expected across western, eastern and southern India. The IMD has predicted significant rainfall activity in Gujarat, Maharashtra, Odisha, Kerala and parts of northeast India. Gujarat remains a key area of concern, with isolated very heavy rainfall expected in parts of Saurashtra and Kutch.
Odisha, Bihar and Jharkhand are likely to continue receiving monsoon showers, while southern states including Kerala and Tamil Nadu may witness heavy rainfall. Thunderstorms with gusty winds are also possible in parts of Andhra Pradesh and Karnataka.
Weather experts believe the current rainfall pattern is linked to active monsoon circulation and favourable atmospheric conditions across different parts of India.
