Mumbai: The weather department has issued a yellow alert for possible rain and thunderstorms in Maharashtra's capital, Mumbai. The regional weather department has attributed the reason to the conditions and weak southwest monsoon winds affecting the region.
According to Dynamite News correspondent, heavy rains occurred at many places in Mumbai on Friday, while other parts of Maharashtra remained cloudy. There was no significant rise in temperature, but the atmosphere remained humid and uncomfortable due to humidity and intermittent rain.
Similar conditions likely
According to meteorologists, similar conditions will continue till the end of the week. Light to moderate rain and thundershowers are likely. Moderate rainfall has been observed here since the onset of monsoon. In the last six days, Colaba recorded 30 mm of rain and Santacruz 47.1 mm. Despite slightly below average temperatures, Colaba recorded 32.2 degrees Celsius and Santacruz 31.7 degrees Celsius.
People felt the heat.
People felt heat due to high humidity. Santacruz received 14 mm of rain on Friday, while Colaba did not receive any rain. Similar weather is expected in Jalgaon, Nashik, Pune, and Nagpur districts, where thunderstorms are likely in isolated places. Similar weather prevails from central Maharashtra to coastal Andhra Pradesh, as well as parts of Karnataka and Telangana.
Farmers earned profit
Despite the challenges of monsoon, farmers are happy. A local farmer has earned a lot of profit by doing organic farming of Iranian dates. Rains are expected to continue over the weekend, although thunderstorm activity may reduce as the weather changes.

A yellow alert has been issued in Patna with the possibility of lightning. Lucknow will remain cloudy on June 4 and 5, and light rain or thundershowers may occur. A yellow alert has been issued for strong winds. Chandigarh is also likely to have light rain and cloudy weather, but there is no alert.
Chances of rain and storm
Apart from this, the outskirts of Himachal Pradesh's capital, Shimla, are also likely to have rain and storms for the next three days, for which an orange alert has been issued on June 4 and 5, where hailstorms with thunder and strong winds at a speed of 40-50 kmph are likely.
Yellow alert issued
There is no alert in Ranchi today, but there is a possibility of rain and storm with a yellow alert on June 5. Bhopal is likely to have rain and lightning with a yellow alert till June 6. Jaipur has a yellow alert for rain and lightning with thunder from June 4 to 6. Dehradun is also likely to have moderate to heavy rain and strong winds for the next two days, for which a yellow alert has been issued.
