New Delhi: A new group calling itself the Laal Hit Janta Party has emerged as a vocal opponent of the Cockroach Janta Party (CJP), which has been campaigning for the resignation of Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar. The development adds a new dimension to the ongoing political confrontation over the Election Commission and the methods adopted by protest groups.
The Laal Hit Janta Party describes itself as an opponent of CJP's demonstrations and has called for constitutional values, democratic accountability and responsible public participation.
The group held a members' gathering at Malviya Smriti Bhawan on Pandit Deen Dayal Upadhyaya Marg in New Delhi on Sunday. According to reports, the meeting focused on constitutional principles, national development, democratic accountability and lawful participation in public affairs.

The gathering was addressed by convenor Ayan Bhatnagar and filmmakers Richa Gupta, Pawan Nagpal and Atul Gangwar. The organisation urged young people, particularly members of Generation Z, to engage in democratic processes through peaceful protests, factual communication and legal channels.
Its stated motto is “Nation First, Respect for the Constitution, Democracy as Our Identity.”
The Laal Hit Janta Party has positioned itself against the CJP campaign seeking Gyanesh Kumar's resignation. The CJP's agitation has brought questions surrounding electoral rolls and the functioning of election authorities into the political spotlight.
The new group's name appears to be a satirical response to the Cockroach Janta Party, reflecting the unconventional naming and messaging strategies adopted by the rival outfits.
The Laal Hit Janta Party had also organised a gathering at Janpath earlier this month. Around 200 people reportedly assembled to protest alleged assaults on police personnel and abusive language directed at Prime Minister Narendra Modi during demonstrations.
Bhatnagar has said the group was not formed to contest elections but to oppose CJP and its protests. He has criticised what he considers attempts to weaken democracy and create disorder in the country.
The organisation has emphasised peaceful political engagement, accountability and respect for democratic institutions as its guiding principles.
The emergence of the Laal Hit Janta Party highlights how the dispute surrounding CEC Gyanesh Kumar has expanded beyond the original campaign, with competing groups now using public meetings, political messaging and satire to challenge one another.
The broader debate continues to revolve around electoral accountability, the right to protest and the manner in which disagreements over democratic institutions should be expressed.
