Patna: A major political upheaval is set to occur in Bihar. Chief Minister Nitish Kumar is set to resign from his post today on Tuesday. The formal resignation process is expected to be completed by noon, paving the way for the formation of a new government in the state. After prolonged political discussions, the power dynamics are now considered almost certain.

Next CM will be from BJP?

According to sources, the next Chief Minister of Bihar will be from the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP). This change will be seen after a long time since the BJP has taken over the reins of the state. While deliberations on the final name are still ongoing, it is likely that one of Samrat Chaudhary and Nityanand Rai will be given the responsibility. The final decision will be made by the top leadership.

JDU's New Role, Focus on Deputy CM

Under the new arrangement, JDU may now have to play a secondary role within the alliance. As part of the agreement, the party is likely to receive the post of Deputy Chief Minister. There is also talk that some important responsibilities may go to JDU to maintain political balance.

All Allies to Have a Share in the Cabinet

The total number of ministers in the new cabinet is estimated to be around 33 to 34. According to the formula, the BJP and JDU are expected to receive 15 ministerial positions each. Other allies will also receive a share. Chirag Paswan's LJP-R is expected to receive two ministerial positions, while Jitan Ram Manjhi's HAM and Upendra Kushwaha's RLM are expected to receive one each. A maximum of 36 ministers can be appointed in the state.

BJP's Strong Hold on the Balance of Power

In the new government, the BJP will not only hold the post of Chief Minister but may also retain key positions such as the Home Ministry and the Speaker of the Legislative Assembly. This clearly indicates that the BJP will play a decisive and influential role in the incoming government, while allies will be given a limited but significant share.
