New Delhi: Amid rising anxiety over artificial intelligence reshaping workplaces, technology leaders at the AI Impact Summit 2026 in New Delhi urged professionals to remain composed and proactively upgrade their skills. The consensus at the summit was clear: AI will transform jobs, not eliminate work altogether.

Speaking during a session on “The Future of Employability in the Age of AI,” executives highlighted that while certain roles may fade, new opportunities will emerge for those prepared to adapt. Over the next three to five years, they predicted significant workforce restructuring driven by rapid AI adoption.

Lifelong Learning Is the New Job Security

Sanjeev Bikhchandani, founder of Info Edge, which operates Naukri.com, drew parallels with the introduction of computers in banks. He noted that despite initial fears, automation boosted productivity without leading to widespread job losses.

Addressing concerns among young professionals, Bikhchandani advised them not to focus on policy debates but instead on personal preparedness. He encouraged setting a goal of mastering at least three AI tools within a short timeframe. According to him, understanding and using AI platforms can strengthen employability rather than threaten it.

AI as a Capability Multiplier

Sateesh Seetharamiah, CEO of EdgeVerve, emphasized that AI acts as a “capability multiplier,” enhancing efficiency and productivity across industries. However, he underlined that human accountability remains essential. While job roles may evolve, the need for human oversight will persist.

Echoing similar sentiments, Vineet Nayar, founder-chairman of Sampark Foundation, predicted that AI could displace nearly half of current roles but also generate an equivalent number of new positions. The key, he stressed, lies in identifying and acquiring the right skills for an AI-driven environment.

Adapting to the AI Wave

The overarching message from the summit was one of resilience and adaptability. As AI technologies continue to advance, professionals who embrace continuous learning and experiment with emerging tools are more likely to thrive in the evolving job landscape.
