Lucknow: Samajwadi Party National President Akhilesh Yadav was seen in a striking new avatar at the party office in Lucknow on Wednesday, drawing attention amid the growing political heat ahead of the Uttar Pradesh elections.

Before addressing a press conference, Akhilesh Yadav was welcomed by members of the tribal community, who presented him with a traditional bow and arrow and adorned him with a cap representing tribal culture and identity. Holding the colourful bow and arrow, the SP chief aimed towards the sky, a moment that quickly became the highlight of the event.

Akhilesh’s confident posture, composed smile and symbolic gesture created a strong visual message. Party workers and members of the tribal community present at the venue watched the moment closely, with many seeing it as a sign of confidence and political intent.

The bow, arrow and traditional cap also triggered political discussion, especially as the Samajwadi Party continues to sharpen its PDA pitch in Uttar Pradesh. Later, during the press conference, Akhilesh Yadav said that the ‘A’ in PDA stands for ‘Adivasi’ and asserted that the tribal community would be given dignity, respect and representation if the Samajwadi Party returns to power.

He also met party leaders before the press briefing, took stock of organisational matters and discussed future political strategy.

The visuals from the Lucknow party office have now added a fresh talking point to Uttar Pradesh’s political discourse, with Akhilesh Yadav’s bow-and-arrow moment being seen as both cultural outreach and a symbolic political message.
