New Delhi: With the Monsoon session of parliament enters its last week,the government today agreed to the major demand of the Opposition that Home Minister Amit Shah make a statement on the student lathicharge, protesting against NEET paper leak.The parliamentary affairs minister Kiran Rijiju at 2 pm in the Lok Sabha stated that the government is ready to discuss the Student lathicharge issue and the Home Minister Shah would speak and reply.
The Business Advisory Committee also the government indicated its climb down and ready for debate on he issue. However, the Opposition did not yeild to the statement and continued their protest in the well of the House with slogans and placards. Government sources said that on Tuesday the debate on student lathicharge. The rule and the timing would decide by the Speaker Om Birla.
Meanwhile,the parliament began on a stormy note in both the Houses making their core demands with placards and both the House houses were adjourned to 12 noon and later at 2 pm.At noon Home Minister Shah came to Parliament and held meeting with the senior ministers.
Ever after the government announced Home Minister to address the House on tuesday, the Opposition continued its protest. It is not known what exatly the Opposition was demanding on Home Minister statement. In the din and bustle, Law and Justice Minister Arjun Ram Meghwal, managed to pass the Tribunals Reforms Bill, 2026 in Lok Sabha without any discussion.
The Rajya Sabha also adjourned for the day after the Finance Minister Nirmala Sitaraman manage to get passed the Taxation amendment bill.
